Songbook Sundays, created and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer, will celebrate the work of lyricist Johnny Mercer next month at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club.
Entitled One for Johnny Mercer, the June 9 concerts will be presented at 5 PM and 7:30 PM at the Manhattan venue.
The performances will feature the talents of Klea Blackhurst, Gabrielle Stravelli, and Robbie Lee with musical director Billy Stritch on piano. Musicians will also include Eric Halvorson on drums, Caylen Bryant on bass, and Daniel Cohen on saxophone.
Attendees can expect to hear such Mercer songs as "Moon River," "Blues in the Night," "One for My Baby," "Come Rain or Come Shine," and "Skylark."
