Cabaret & Concert News Johnny Mercer Celebrated in Songbook Sundays Concerts June 9

Deborah Grace Winer hosts the performances with musical direction by Billy Stritch.

Songbook Sundays, created and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer, celebrates the work of lyricist Johnny Mercer June 9 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club.

Entitled One for Johnny Mercer, the concerts will be presented at 5 PM and 7:30 PM at the Manhattan venue.

The performances feature the talents of Klea Blackhurst, Gabrielle Stravelli, and Robbie Lee with musical director Billy Stritch on piano. Musicians also include Eric Halvorson on drums, Caylen Bryant on bass, and Daniel Cohen on saxophone.

Attendees can expect to hear such Mercer songs as "Moon River," "Blues in the Night," "One for My Baby," "Come Rain or Come Shine," and "Skylark."
