DESCRIPTION

Overview
The Lighting Design Group, (LDG) www.ldg.com, an internationally recognized broadcast and entertainment lighting design firm in New York City, seeks an experienced Project Manager. The position is responsible for project planning, budgeting, managing, tracking, facilitating and close out of projects involving the temporary and permanent installation of lighting infrastructure for video capture in broadcast, theater and religious facilities as well as more hybrid projects involving the integration of architectural and entertainment lighting.

We leverage this to provide the best broadcast lighting design and installation services for top broadcast networks worldwide. The Project Manager is an important member of our in-house production team.

Reports to:
VP of Production Services

Responsibilities include:

· Oversee high profile production projects from pre-production through close-out to ensure that work is on time and all deadlines are met.

· Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting on individual projects and your portfolio in the aggregate.

· Ensure that budgets, proposals, purchase orders and close outs are submitted in a timely manner.

· Ensure that crew and designer calendars are accurate and up to date through collaborating with PMs and schedule coordinator on a daily basis.

· Ensure that vendor invoices, expense reports and company credit card usage is properly documented and submitted to finance as required for proper AP, AR and Payroll processing.

· Work with equipment department/production gaffer for purchase and/or rental of project related equipment as appropriate.

· Mentor junior project managers as appropriate.

Requirements:

The position requires an experienced person (over 10 years) who is highly organized, detail oriented, adaptable to rapidly changing circumstances, a solid team player who has excellent oral and written communication skills. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Experience with project management software tools is a plus.

Experience in entertainment lighting for theatre and/or television is required; field experience is preferred, and knowledge of broadcast television production is a plus. The position requires the ability to work the hours required to get the job done.

A bachelor’s degree is required and a certification in project management is a plus.

This is an in-person position, working at LDG’s NY office as directed by the VP of Production Services. Salary is commensurate with experience, in the $65,000- $85,000 range. LDG offers an excellent benefits package after probationary period.
