Hairspray, Some Like It Hot, and Smash songwriter Marc Shaiman will join The San Diego Symphony July 3 at the Rady Shell for a concert evening celebrating his illustrious career. Whoopi Goldberg, Nathan Lane, Martin Short, and Lin-Manuel Miranda think audiences should make sure to see it—see them explain why in the video above.
Shaiman will be joined by a cadre of special guests, including Rory Donovan, Elizabeth Stanley, and Shayna Steele. Tony-winning Hairspray star Marissa Jaret Winokur will also make a special guest appearance. Steven Reineke will be at the podium.
Concertgoers can expert to hear anecdotes from Shaiman's storied career, plus songs like "You Can't Stop the Beat," "It Had to Be You," "Some Like It Hot," "Let Me Be Your Star," "I Will Follow Him," "Wind Beneath My Wings," "Blame Canada," and more.
