The wild partnership of injury attorneys Ross Cellino and Steve Barnes—from their rise in the 1990s through their break-up in the 2010s—is the subject of Cellino V. Barnes, a new play that will arrive Off-Broadway later this summer.

Written by Mike B. Breen and David Rafailedes and directed by Wesley Taylor and Alex Wyse, performances will begin July 23 at Asylum NYC for a limited engagement through October 13. Casting, by Geoff Josselson, will be announced at a later date.

“Playwrights Mike B. Breen and David Rafailedes have worked tirelessly over the last several years to get to the bottom of what really happened with Cellino and Barnes,” said producers Maxwell Beer and Mitch Marois of Mix and Match Productions in a statement. “And sure, even though the real-life Ross Cellino is ‘not willing to be involved,’ we think Mike and Dave may really be onto something here.”

Cellino V. Barnes will also feature scenic and props design by Riw Rakkulchon, costume design by Ricky Lurie, sound design by UptownWorks, and lighting design by Aiden Bezark. Derrick Weishaar serves as creative consultant.

LDK Productions is the general manager, Paul Bakey is the company manager, Sarah Schetter is the production manager, and Amy Castro is the stage manager.

Cellino V. Barnes is produced by Mix and Match Productions with co-producers Rohit Gopal, Caitlin Berg, Katherine Brown, Jeffrey Morse, David Pochapin, and Cameron Koffman.
