National Tour News Rob McClure Sets Final Performance Date in Mrs. Doubtfire Tour; Replacements Named

The North American tour of the Broadway musical comedy will play its final performance in November.

Rob McClure, Tony-nominated for his performance as Daniel Hillard/Euphegenia Doubtfire in the musical adaptation of the hit film Mrs. Doubtfire, will play his final performance in that show's North American tour October 13 in Sacramento, California. The two-time Tony nominee will have played over 400 performances with the show.

Succeeding McClure as the lovable Scottish Nanny will be Alex Branton and Jonathan Hoover, who have both previously performed the role on tour. They will alternate in the title role through the tour's final performance November 24 in Appleton, Wisconsin.

“It is truly special when the star of a Broadway musical takes the show on the road, and we are thrilled that audiences were able to experience Rob McClure performing this career-defining role in cities all across America for the past year,” said producer Kevin McCollum in a statement. "We are eternally grateful for his talent, leadership, and willingness to share the joy of Mrs. Doubtfire with so many people, and we wish him all the best on all of his future projects. We're excited for Rob to pass the broom to the talented Alex Branton and Jonathan Hoover and know remaining tour audiences are in for a treat with them.”

The company also includes Catherine Brunell as Miranda Hillard, Giselle Gutierrez as Lydia Hillard, Aaron Kaburick as Frank Hillard, Marquez Linder as Andre Mayhem, Alex Ringler as Stuart Dunmire, Romelda Teron Benjamin as Wanda Sellner, Charlotte Sydney Harrington and Sunny Lauren Hoder as Natalie Hillard, and Jake Beser and Sam Bird as Christopher Hillard.

Rounding out the cast are David Hibbard, Bianca Rivera-Irions, Josiah Hicks, Ndaya Dream Hoskins, Sheila Jones, Julie Kavanagh, Ian Liberto, Jacob Major, Naderah Munajj, JP Qualters, Luke Rands, Lannie Rubio, Neil Starkenberg, Joey Stone, Gina Ward, Lauryn Withnell, and Julia Yameen.

With direction by four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks, the 2021 musical comedy features a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick.

The creative team is rounded out by choreographer Lorin Latarro; music supervisor, arranger, and orchestrator Ethan Popp; scenic designer David Korins; costume designer Catherine Zuber; lighting designer Philip S. Rosenberg; sound designers Brian Ronan and Craig Cassidy; and hair and wig designers David Brian Brown with casting by The Telsey Office's Craig Burns.
