The fall season is kicking off with lots of Broadway babies to salute!

Try to remember who was born in September, you'll have a difficult time because there's so many stars to celebrate. See some of Broadway's best who are celebrating a birthday this month, and what they're currently working on. And check out the Playbill Vault for other theatre notables with September birthdays.

We've got some real big news: Jay Armstrong Johnson (On the Town, Parade) celebrated his birthday September 1. But this birthday Parade has another float—happy birthday to Carolee Carmello (Kimberly Akimbo national tour), too! Shoshana Bean, another Jason Robert Brown songbird and the current star Alicia Keys' musical Hell's Kitchen, also celebrated on the first day of September.

Three-time Tony nominee and one of Broadway's recent slew of handsome princes, Joshua Henry (Into the Woods, Camelot, Waitress), has a September 2 birthday.

All hail September 4 baby James Monroe Iglehart, who will be returning to Broadway this fall as Louie Armstrong in A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical.

Let's hope there's a little reward for Anika Noni Rose (of the recent Uncle Vanya revival) on her September 6 birthday.

Director Jerry Zaks (Mrs. DoubtfireHello, Dolly! The Music Man) and producer Ted Chapin (Oklahoma!, The Sound of Music, The King and I) share a September 7 birthday. They also share a big love for Broadway. Zaks started as a performer in the original production of Grease, and he has directed over 25 Broadway productions (with four Tony wins!). Chapin's long career began as a production assistant before serving over 30 years as president of The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, with which he shares three Tony Awards.

Come On! Feel the birthday love for Justin Peck (Illinoise) on September 8.

"Many Moons Ago" Will Chase (Once Upon a Mattress) was born. Also sharing his September 12 birthday is EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson (A Strange Loop, The Color Purple).

The woman of honor at the birthday dinner on September 13 is Jean Smart (The Man Who Came to DinnerPiaf).

We'll share the next 10 minutes with Nick Jonas (of the upcoming The Last Five Years) on his September 16 birthday. The pop star shares his birthday with Sarah Steele (The Humans).

Hell, no! We're not going to let September 17 slip by without celebrating Danielle Brooks (The Piano Lesson, Ain't Too Proud). Happy day, too, to rock-n-roll man Constantine Maroulis (Spring Awakening, Jekyll & Hyde).

Happy September 18 birthday to Tony-nominated playwright and performer Anna Deavere Smith (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992)!

Ramin Karimloo, soon to be seen in the revival of Pirates of Penzance, will be a modern major birthday boy on September 19. He is joined on his birthday by Stephanie J. Block (currently starring in Kiss Me, Kate in London), Ernie Sabella (Curtains, Sweet Charity), and Max Clayton (The Music Man, Moulin Rouge! The Musical).

Strike a Pose for Tony and Emmy winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), who celebrates a birthday September 21. It's also no secret that celebrated playwright and Bridges of Madison County book writer, Marsha Norman, was also born this day.

September 22 is a big day. We're blowing out candles for Jenn Colella (Suffs). Celebrating alongside her is Tatiana Maslany (Grey HouseNetwork).

It's director's day September 23. Happy birthday to Jason Alexander (The Cottage, Fish in the Dark), who currently wrapped up Judgement Day in Chicago, and Tony-winning director George C. Wolfe, who is at the helm of the highly-anticipated revival of Gypsy this fall.

Dear Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen, Parade), September 24 is going to be a good day because it's your birthday.

We need to talk-a-little about Jayne Houdyshell (Uncle Vanya, The Music Man)—the much-loved Tony-winning actor celebrates her life in the theatre on September 25.

Anything Goes for director Kathleen Marshall (Living on LoveIn Transit) on her September 28 birthday.

Let's go Back to the Future on September 29 to wish Roger Bart (Disaster!, Young Frankenstein) and Darius de Haas (Shuffle Along, Rent) a happy birthday. (Did that work? Time travel is confusing.)

We round out the month with September 30 birthdays Stark Sands (of the new Broadway musical Swept Away) and Kieran Culkin (of the upcoming Glengarry Glenn Ross revival).
