"The Ensemblist," according to press notes, "is an inside look at the experience of being a Broadway performer — from the first rehearsal through performing eight shows a week and beyond. Whether you're an experienced theatre professional or just a passionate fan, 'The Ensemblist' gives listeners the opportunity to get to know new performers and the great work they do onstage, while also shedding light on some of the hidden innerworkings of Broadway."
The "I'm. In. Tech!" episode features Lori Ann Ferreri (On the Town, Wicked), Michael James Scott (Aladdin, The Book of Mormon, Elf, Hair, The Pirate Queen, Tarzan, All Shook Up, Mamma Mia!) and Ephraim M. Sykes (Motown, Newsies, Memphis, The Little Mermaid), who "explain how rewarding and tiring it is to get all of the technical elements in place for a spectacular opening night on Broadway."
According to press notes, "Technical rehearsals, often termed 'tech,' allow members of the creative team to physicalize the lighting, sound, scenic, costume, and orchestral plans for the Broadway production while also incorporating them into the performances of the cast, which can sometimes take up to several weeks. The guests on this episode have learned some of the tricks of the trade when it comes to surviving the long hours of tech."
