Five-time Grammy nominee Michael Feinstein celebrates his birthday September 7.
Dubbed “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook,” Feinstein has built a dazzling career over the last three decades, from recordings that have earned him five Grammy nominations to his Emmy-nominated PBS specials, his acclaimed NPR series, and concerts spanning the globe. His work as an educator and archivist define Feinstein as one of the most important musical forces of our time. The Feinstein brand has grown to include serving as artistic director of The Center of the Performing Arts, director of Popular Song—Jazz at Lincoln Center, conductor of the Kravis Pops Orchestra and Pasadena Pops Orchestra, founder of the Great American Songbook Foundation in Carmel, Indiana, Feinstein’s at the Nikko in San Francisco, and Feinstein’s/54 Below in NYC.
