TDF will celebrate another successful year of its Wendy Wasserstein Project with a special ceremony June 10 at John Jay College. The event will feature a performance from Broadway favorite and Tony winner Lillias White (Hadestown).

The program, founded in 1998, pairs NYC public high school students with theatre professionals for a year of theatre and conversations. Most of this year's participating students saw White in Hadestown as part of the program.

This year's roster of mentoring professionals included Marc Acito, Mark Brokaw, Carolee Carmello, Kathleen Chalfant, Rachel Canoff, Dawn Chiang, Dominic Colón, Mindi Dickstein, Alexander Dinelaris, Joe DiPietro, Ira Mont, Scott Ellis, Peter Friedman, Anne Hamburger, Stephen Karam, Natasha Katz, James Lapine, Robert Longbottom, Aubrey Lynch II, Kathleen Marshall, Dick Scanlan, Derek McLane, Luis Salgado, Leonardo Sandoval, Keith Randolph Smith, Eric Ulloa, Serena Wong, and David Zippel.

“TDF’s Wendy Wasserstein Project took hundreds of students to diverse and spectacular shows this bountiful season,” says TDF Education Programs Director Ginger Bartkoski Meagher in a statement. “We reveled in the wealth of new openings and opportunities to talk about theatre, ourselves, and how we see ourselves in these stories. We brought that heightened perspective and empathy back into our own lives and learned from it. We are lucky to continue to be able to bring New Yorkers to their birthright and celebrate the rich artistic landscape we live in under the guidance of our talented and generous mentors. We are very excited to expand the Wendy Wasserstein Project over the next two years, as well as add more opportunities for our alumni to gather and continue to share theatre!”
