Gooood morning! Thanks for joining me. Just a warning, there will be a lot of steaming today. If you’re OK with that, click right.

If you follow me on twitter, which if you don’t, you’re really missing out (@gidglick), you’ll know that I have an obsession with The Bridges of Madison County. I count listening to it as part of my emotional diet, especially on two-show days.
Gideon Glick
Look! It’s playbill.com! I’m a little embarrassed to say that I check this website before I check the news.
Gideon Glick
I told you there’d be steaming. I talk too much in this show.
I could write an ode to the B train. Truly. I get on this puppy two blocks away from my apartment, avoid Times Square, and get dropped off right at the theater. FUN FACT: When I was a young boy I LOVED Times Square. I would get off the train from Philadelphia and RUN to Times Square, get a ticket to a Broadway show, and then eat at Ellen’s Stardust Diner (which I dreamt about working at when I got older).
Gideon Glick
See! Right at the corner of the theater’s block!

And here she is, Miss Laura Pels.

Goodbye sun! We perform in Sub-Cellar 3.

Now I check in with the lovely ladies of our stage management team. This is Mel, Sam, and Cat (she doesn’t even go by that, but she lets me call her that). Meow.
Gideon Glick
This is our sign in board. I’m usually the first to arrive.
Gideon Glick
Sas is another early arriver. She’s about to put her weave in, which you can see is resting on her dressing room table.
Gideon Glick
Luke is usually the second cast member to arrive. We do Alexander and breathing work together in the mezzanine before every show.
Gideon Glick
Meet Ben! He’s my understudy. We’re all convinced that he actually lives at the theater. Quite possibly in this cot. As you’ll see over the course of the day, he never seems to leave the Equity cot.
Gideon Glick
You’re here at a VERY exciting two-show day. It’s haircut day!!!
Gideon Glick
Haircuts are given at the luxurious Bamboo Palace.

This is what my dressing room table looks like.

I’ve just made some tea with honey. I use my Devious Maids thermos for said tea. I get a lot of flak from the actors for using this thermos, but it’s a wonderful thermos, and I honestly think they’re just jealous.
Gideon Glick
These are my good luck charms. This is Buddha, Ganesh, and my late grandmother’s wishing token. I kiss the token before every act.
Gideon Glick
More steaming.
Gideon Glick
All the ladies have arrived. Lindsay seems to think her hair curler is a microphone. Silly Lindsay!
Gideon Glick
Please meet Stacey and April. These two wonderful women run the wardrobe. They are unbelievably attractive.
Gideon Glick
April provides fun facts for us on most days. She brings a little light to the sub cellar.

This little trick I learned from Joan Lader. Blowing bubbles will help with vocal placement. Give it a try.
Gideon Glick
Almost all the boys have arrived. Sometimes they talk about sports and sometimes they talk about space travel. So I start singing Bridges of Madison County to restore a balance in the universe.
Gideon Glick
Meet Njeri, the Steinberg Center Apprentice, Eric, the Assistant Master Technician, and Rich, the Local 1 Apprentice. Sounds like a D&D game, no?
Gideon Glick
Brooks has arrived. He’s the understudy for John and Luke. Now all the men are present. And we can talk more about sports.
Gideon Glick
He must have bedsores.
Gideon Glick
Luke’s character is based off a member of the Lollipop Guild.
Gideon Glick
Before every act the cast does a dark secret ritual called THE BB COUNTDOWN!
Gideon Glick
I always tend to get very important calls around this time too.
Gideon Glick
Cat stole my phone.
Gideon Glick
Where’s Ben? Oh, he’s still in the cot. And he’s sleeping. Please be quiet.
Gideon Glick
The AMAZING Ann Harada came to see our matinee.

Pre-haircut.

The Bamboo Palace is in full swing. Meet Troy, the king of the palace.
Gideon Glick
Post-haircut. What a difference.
Gideon Glick
My best friend in the entire world, Sarah Steele, came to have lunch with me in between shows. I’m not going to see her for a while because she’s about to go film Speech and Debate (a play we did in 2007 at the Roundabout) in Mississippi!
Gideon Glick
Alas, the 2nd show is over. Lindsay salutes the two-show day.
Gideon Glick
Herb, Sas’s father, came to say hi after the show. He is a true mensch.
Gideon Glick
We really can’t get enough of that B train.
Gideon Glick
I FaceTime with my boyfriend every night after the show. He’s a resident at UPenn Hospital, and sometimes he has to work nights, hence the scrubs. You watch "Grey’s Anatomy," you know what I’m talking about.
Gideon Glick
I take a bath after every show (no image provided) and then, guess what, I steam.
Gideon Glick
And now it’s time to say adieu. Goodnight! Hope my two-show day wasn’t too boring.
The cast of this coming-of-age story about a gay bachelor looking for love in the city features Wicked star Lindsay Mendez, Tony nominee Barbara Barrie (original cast of Company), John Behlmann (The 39 Steps), Gideon Glick, Sas Goldberg, Carra Patterson and Luke Smith.
The limited engagement, directed by Trip Cullman (Punk Rock, Murder Ballad), runs through Aug. 16 at the Laura Pels Theatre.
According to Roundabout, Significant Other is a story about single life in the city: "Jordan Berman would love to be in love, but that's easier said than done. So until he meets Mr. Right, he wards off lonely nights with his trio of close-knit girlfriends. But as singles' nights turn into bachelorette parties, Jordan finds that supporting the ones you love can be just as impossible as finding love itself."
Harmon's Bad Jews was the third most-produced work around the country this season. It premiered at Roundabout's Underground Black Box theatre in 2012 in a sold-out extended run and transferred the following year to the Laura Pels Theatre. His work has also been produced and developed by Manhattan Theatre Club, Hangar Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival and Ars Nova, among others. He is currently in development with Roundabout for a new, commissioned play.
Tickets are available by visiting roundabouttheatre.org or by calling (212) 719-1300. The Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre is located at 111 West 46th St., New York.
