Ms. Deull led the company, which transports national tours of most major Broadway shows, for more than three decades.

Clark Transfer president Norma Molitch Deull passed away August 15 due to a sudden illness. She was 90 years old. 

Ms. Deull was born in Philadelphia in 1933 to a family of Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. A long time resident of in New York City and Cornwall, New York, Ms. Duell attended the Philadelphia High School for Girls and later the University of Pennsylvania.  

Ms. Deull served as president of Clark Transfer, which her father co-founded, for over 30 years, leading the company until she passed. Clark Transfer is responsible for transporting the national tours of most major Broadway shows, as well as symphony orchestras, operas, ballet companies, popular music concerts, and other live entertainment.

Under Ms. Deull's leadership, Clark Transfer created the Touring Green program, which enables touring productions to address the climate crisis by offsetting the carbon impact of moving scenery and equipment. In 2024, she was awarded a Touring Broadway Award by the Broadway League.

Members of four generations of Ms. Deull's family were involved in the operation of Clark Transfer, including her parents, her two brothers, her two sons and their wives, and her grandchildren. Ms. Deull's relatives shared that she saw the company as a great extended family, including her staff and nationwide fleet of drivers.

Ms. Deull was an early champion of New York non-profit Citymeals on Wheels, and was dedicated to supporting other charitable causes including The Broadway Green Alliance, Safe Harbors of the Hudson, and The Hunger Project. Before her death, Ms. Deull asked that everyone would "take the opportunity to do something good for someone else, and also to do something good for ourselves" in her memory. 

She is survived by her son Charles Deull and his wife Laurel Dutcher; her son Jonathan Deull and his wife Sheryl Sturges; Charles’ sons, Benjamin and Joshua, and Joshua’s daughter, Ellie; Jonathan’s children, David and Sara, and Sara’s sons, Jack and Lyam; her brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Marilyn Molitch; her former husband, Ellis Deull; her cousins, nieces, and nephews; friends Sally Olds and Winsome Taylor; and the Leaf family.
