Pittsburgh CLO has revealed casting for its upcoming production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Seussical, playing the Pennsylvania company's Byham Theater July 30–August 4. Michael Heitzman is directing.

Fun Home Tony nominee Beth Malone will lead the company as the Cat in the Hat, with Jacob Keith Watson as Horton, Kate Loprest as Mayzie, Susana Cordón as Gertrude, Darius Harper as the Sour Kangaroo, and Henry Thomas as Jojo.

The cast will also include Zephaniah Divine, Ian Dominguez Ball, and Davis Wayne as the Wickersham Brothers; Kylie Edwards, Jessica Ice, and Brittany Pent Rohm as the Bird Girls; and Laura Guley as the Mayor's Wife. The ensemble will comprise Kristen Grace Brown, Justin Deparis, Lucas Fedele, Devin Neilson, Samantha Nelson, and Megan Sell. The teen ensemble will feature Brett Barthelemy, Linnea McKinney, and Kai Sachon, with swings Sky Bennett and BB Stone and Jojo standby Rory Prichard rounding out the company.

Inspired by the work of children's book author Dr. Seuss, Seussical combines the characters and story of Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and more. The musical played a brief Broadway run in 2000, and has since become a regional and school theatre favorite.

PCLO's production will feature choreography by Robbie Roby, music direction by Catie Brown, music coordination by George Hoydich, music supervision and arrangements by Robert Neumeyer, lighting design by Paul Miller, sound design by Chris Evans and Greg Brooks, puppet design by Lisa Leibering, and hair and makeup design by Jeff Knaggs. Heather Ankley will serve as production stage manager, with Kelly Haywood and Christine Schott as assistant stage managers.

This production of Seussical is being presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Tickets are available at PittsburghCLO.org.
