Tony winner Alex Newell brings their new solo show Alex Newell and the Gospel of a Diva to Off-Broadway's Minetta Lane Theatre beginning June 27 via Audible Theater. The three-performance run, continuing through June 29, will be recorded for future release. Zhailon Levingston (Cats: "The Jellicle Ball") is directing.

Newell made Broadway history in 2023, becoming the first openly non-binary actor to win a Tony Award for their featured performance in Shucked (J. Harrison Ghee matched the achievement later in the same evening, winning Best Leading Actor in a Musical for their work in Some Like It Hot). Breaking onto the scene on TV's Glee, Newell has spent the bulk of their career since on the stage, making a Broadway debut in the 2017 revival of Once On This Island.

Gospel of a Diva sees Newell sharing stories from their life and career to a song list of favorite tunes.

Michael O. Mitchell is music directing, and Michelle Bosch serves as production stage manager. Hudson Theatrical Associates' Sean Gorski is technical supervisor, and Baseline Theatrical's Jonathan Whitton is general manager.

Tickets are available at Audible.com.
