Film star Adam Driver makes his stage return in a new revival of Kenneth Lonergan's Hold On to Me Darling beginning September 24 at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre. Opening night is set for October 16, with the 13-week limited run continuing through December 22.
Driver stars as country music icon Strings McCrane, who abandons the limelight to return to his small Tennessee hometown after the death of his mother. The cast also includes Heather Burns as Nancy, Adelaide Clemens as Essie, Keith Nobbs as Jimmy, CJ Wilson as Duke, and Frank Wood as Mitch. Understudies Mark Jacoby, Haskell King, and Jamie Ann Romero round out the company. Casting is by Telsey Casting.
Driver is a 2012 Lucille Lortel Award winner for his performance in Look Back in Anger and picked up a Tony nomination for his Broadway work in 2019's Burn This.
Neil Pepe is directing, with a creative team including scenic designer Walt Spangler, costume designer Suttirat Larlarb, lighting designer Tyler Micoleau, and sound designer David Van Tiegham. Wagner Johnson Productions is general managing.
