A Scythe of Time, starring Broadway actress Lesli Margherita and American Idiot’s P.J. Griffith, begins performances at the June Havoc Theater for the New York Musical Festival July 21. The show was one of the nine productions to receive extensions at the festival and will now play through July 28.
A Scythe of Time is inspired by two Edgar Allan Poe stories; it features a book by Alan Harris; and music and lyrics by Mark Alan Swanson. Set in London in 1881, it follows the mystery of the infamous Blackwood Articles, in which writers take their own lives and record the experience. The new musical is billed as “a bizarre tale of power and love, poetic justice and bloody revenge.”
